I had one wisdom tooth removed two weeks ago. The surgery was quick, but I was anxious after surgery due to my mouth being sore and have stitches in my mouth. I also had a delayed allergic reaction to amoxicillin which led to a full body rash and my lips swelling up! Luckily, I was able to see my doctor and get some medicine to heal my rash up and it’s finally gone! My wisdom tooth is also healed and I just have to rinse my mouth with salt water for one more week and I’ll be all set!
What got me through the panic of having a surgery and feeling sick was Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE for the Wii U. The Dragon Quest 11 S demo helped me feel better about my rash because it was actually released the day my rash broke out and I had to see the doctor! That was a nice way to end a stressful day!
Tokyo Mirage Sessions
I decided to play this game to help me feel better because I wanted to play a game that was not too challenging and since the combat of this game mirrors the Persona games, I thought it would be easy to play when I was not feeling well.
It made me so happy! I loved doing the puzzles because I was in a dungeon with cameras that you could not face or else you would be transported back and lose progress. It also had a really cool boss named Gangrel. He could attack multiples times and summon enemies to guard him so he was a fun challenge. I loved his boss design because he attacks with his head! His collar will attack you and he does a good amount of damage! I also liked that he had a smirk during the battle which made him look over confident.
The best part was the concert performances! I actually had 2 concerts happen while I was playing which made me happy! I enjoyed the singing and the choreography and the costumes! It was like I was experiencing a live performance in my house! It just put a smile on my face and helped me relax and forget that I was still recovering from my wisdom tooth!
Dragon Quest XI S Demo
So this will be my first Dragon Quest and I am so excited to play the full game when it comes out! This game had me smiling as soon as I booted it up and it proceeded to blast the main theme through my TV! I was not expecting it to be loud so I had to quickly turn it down, but it just made me laugh!
I loved the opening village. I spent time exploring it and the game is so pretty! I also love the soundtrack especially the battle theme. I purposefully trigger battles just to hear the beginning of the battle theme play! I also love that the monsters walk around on screen and I love their character designs! I think my favorite so far is the Bunicorn since I love that it is a bunny with a horn; it is adorable!
I am interested in hearing more about the Luminary! I stopped playing the demo when I reached the town of Heliodor! The demo is really long, I was expecting it to stop once I left Cobblestone! I am glad I decided to try the demo because now I know i will love the game!
Games as Healing
I love that video games can allow you to feel better when you are sick. Tokyo Mirage Sessions helped me forget I had surgery a few days ago and helped me feel normal again. It put a smile on my face watching the performances and fighting a boss!
The Dragon Quest XI S demo helped me feel less scared after I had a sudden bad reaction to the amoxicillin I was given for my wisdom tooth! I was scared because I did not know when the rash would lessen and I was not expecting to be allergic to an antibiotic. But, I again forgot I had a stressful day when I downloaded the demo and started playing. The game was just so bright and happy that I had to smile and laugh!
